Typeface
Inspired by the life of T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia). East meets West, encapsulated in letters. Each European-style serif character terminates in a swash reminiscent of arabic calligraphy to embody Lawrence's personal transformation in Arabia.

Awards system
National awards, bestowed annually. This was a redesign of previous certificates. The redesign directive was to dispense with the tired calligraphy used for each recipient’s name and inscription; these are now individually typeset on each certificate. The new design features an antiquarian botanical illustration from the Garden Club of America’s rare book collection, a reference to the examination/appreciation of the natural world and the archiving of knowledge. Both of these, of course, are what these awards themselves honor and commemorate today.
